After years of confusion regarding the correct pronunciation, we decided to change the band name - so LAIKA is now ALL IN! All members of the band are the same.
How many people are in the band? What is the instrumentation?
There are seven members of the band featuring a male singer, female singer, keys, guitar, bass, drums and a sound man.
However we also offer the option to add a 3pc horn section taking our band from 7pc to 10pc
I'd like to hear the band play sometime... are you appearing at any events I can attend?
Due to the usually very busy wedding season we don't normally have time for many public shows, but if we do they'll be listed on the SHOWS page, or our Facebook page. We do offer the option of attending our sound check before an event, this is a perfect way to meet our band, ask questions and listen to songs that you want to hear. Please inquire and we'll work out a time for you to hear us and in the interim check out our videos of live shows.
What is your usual attire?
Suits and ties, or very nice dress shirts and pants.
Do you provide an MC for the reception?
Yes, we normally MC the event, announcing the wedding party, dances, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. Please keep in mind the location of the band's PA equipment when planning your event.
How many breaks do you take? How long are they?
We want you to get as much music as possible. We've found that your guests usually require a break every hour or so, and so our typical sets are approximately 1 hour and we take two 10-15 min breaks. Of course, your schedule may vary, in which case we're flexible.
Do you arrange for music to be played during your breaks?
Yes, we coordinate DJ break music with an extensive playlist of tried-and-true dance floor favorites. Optionally, you can provide music you'd like to be played during our breaks on a digital player.
Can additional time be added during the event if needed? What is the hourly rate?
Absolutely, as long as it okay with your venue. It is an additional $50.00 a person per half-hour.
